CEREC Crowns

CEREC, which harnesses the power of cutting-edge Cad Cam Technology, revolutionizes the dental crown delivery process by enabling us to craft and place crowns seamlessly within a single visit. This innovative approach eliminates the traditional requirements for impressions, temporization, and the inconvenience of a second visit, streamlining the entire experience for our patients while ensuring precision, efficiency, and the highest standards of dental care.

Traditional dental crown procedure

Your tooth will be reduced in size to accommodate a crown. An impression is taken and a model is poured. Both the impression and model are sent to a special lab, which manufactures a custom-designed crown. A temporary crown is placed until the permanent crown is ready. Permanent crowns are cemented or bonded in place.

How to care for dental crowns

It is very important to brush and floss in the area of the dental crown to avoid excess plaque or collection of debris around the restoration.

Certain behaviors such as jaw clenching or bruxism (teeth grinding) significantly shorten the life of a dental crown. Moreover, eating brittle foods, ice or hard candy can compromise the adhesion of the crown, or even damage the dental crown.
